Woodlawn Village: Phase I Recap

Phase I of The Villages at Belvoir Accessible Housing Project, completed in 2022, successfully completed and implemented a new standard for accessible military housing for residents, particularly wounded warriors and their families. This phase included the completion of 11 new four-bedroom accessible homes at Woodlawn Village, which are ADA compliant and boast LEED Silver certification. Crucially, Phase I established a new, economically scalable design—developed since 2015 and 40% cheaper than original prototypes—featuring innovations like quieter, separated bedrooms for those with PTSD or sensory conditions, open floor plans, roll-in showers and separate tubs, and separate HVAC systems. The phase concluded with the foundations laid for 13 additional homesites at Woodlawn Village, marking the transition to Phase II continuing the project in 2026.
